One of the reasons why I've kind of held off, aside from the high prices is because i know good and well that the vast majority of retro games that i buy will just sit there on a shelf or in a container to serve as nostalgia/memory trophies. Mon 4th Jul But when you factor in just how ridiculously expensive many of these 8-16 bit carts are getting, sometimes you just want to check out all together and look for more affordable options.

So in my case, the older carts & Consoles still matter. I also had the NES & SNES mini's too, wasn't a fan of those strictly because of the latency and i dont like playing these older games on HDTV's, but that's just me. Having a 27" or so, 4:3 picture with a CRT filter would of been ideal, but alas. CRT filter, or using a CRT TV with an RF cable rounds out & Softens the edges and makes characters etc look more like cartoons. Razor sharp sprites don't take me back and add a massive layer of artificialness roughness to the picture. NES emulations have dark ugly colors, and Nintendo never included an option to scale down the image for people that have larger 65" TV's like myself, other than using pixel perfect which just isn't my thing.
Wasn't a big fan of NES & SNES Online for switch.
eek! But for pure nostalgia, authenticity and zero latency nothing beats having the OG Cartridge, system & CRT tube TV.
